KUBOTA BUSINESS UNIT ENGINE EUROPE TO UNVEIL NEW EUROPEAN STRATEGY AND INNOVATIVE PRODUCTS AT INTERMAT, PARIS 2018

Kubota, the world-leading primary power-source manufacturer of industrial diesel, gasoline and LPG engines, will be making a significant series of announcements at the INTERMAT Exhibition for Construction and Infrastructure in Paris, 23 to 28 April 2018 – notably, the new strategy for its European operations.

The event marks the first formal appearance of the recently-formed Business Unit Engine Europe (BUEE). It reflects a newly-confident, outward-facing approach from the European business arm of the Japan-headquartered corporation as it evolves to establish itself as a global major brand within the Off-Highway Industrial sector.

It recognises too that many of its engines now reside in non-Kubota-branded products, a development which is only expected to continue. And, it acknowledges a new focus on the complete “sales journey” from market through manufacturing to customer care.

Kubota believes that its new BUEE, with an increased degree of semi-autonomy from Japan, will allow it to operate with greater speed and flexibility in Europe. It also reflects its ambitious growth plans in Europe, particularly now that the leading economies continue to show positive growth after a decade of relative stagnation.

Kubota Business Unit Engine Europe pinpointed the significance of INTERMAT 2018 as an important and key event, gathering together Kubota’s specialist teams with customers in the run up to the start of EU Stage V implementation, commencing from the beginning of 2019 followed by a further step in 2020. It is using the event to exclusively exhibit a group of new Engine solutions to Europe for the first time.

Kubota will use this year’s exhibition to unveil new and innovative products, developed specifically to meet the market need for EU Stage V compliant solutions. It will also exhibit a prototype of a future micro-electric hybrid engine.

At INTERMAT, Kubota will stage the official European unveiling of the new 09 Series. The range will be represented by the NEW 5.0 litre V5009 model and will establish the Kubota engine brand as the primary power-source above 200HP throughout Europe. The event will also be an opportunity to announce the V4309, a variant on the existing series, demonstrating the expansion and flexibility of the 09 “family”.

In addition to the showcasing the V5009, Kubota will announce further innovative product development for the first time, demonstrating Kubota’s renewed commitment to customer needs, behind its “Kubota, The Answer” tagline.

INTERMAT will also see the first public outing of the WG1903, a newly-created 1.9 Litre, 3 Cylinder model designed specifically for use with Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), gasoline, natural gas and dual fuel capability.

This new gas and dual fuelled engine model will further enhance the world-leading Kubota engine product range specifically designed for use within construction equipment, municipal and material handling equipment sectors.

Kubota will further be exhibiting the evolutionary V1505-CR-T, a brand new compact DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst) and DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) equipped engine, which benefits from the greater efficiency that comes from CRS (Common Rail System) high pressure fuel injection.

Daniel Grant, Marketing Manager of Business Unit Engine Europe, commented: “INTERMAT 2018 provides the perfect opportunity to present our new Power Solutions together under one roof, along with our engineering and customer first expert knowledge. It allows us to stress our commitment not just to Europe and our customers, but to the wider environment”.

“It is appropriate that we offer a range of products that meet the needs of European OEMs, which are now at critical stages in product design and development in preparation for EU Stage V in 2019/2020,” Grant continued. “But it is also important to demonstrate our commitment to Europe, our experience and future vision. From DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst), DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) and SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology, through dual fuel solutions and to our experienced support network with its renewed emphasis on speed and flexibility, Kubota is in prime position to provide an answer to whatever our customers’ questions may be.”
